In 1936, The Late Dr. Nashed Helmy graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Fouad 1st University. In 1938, he established his private clinic at 50, Kasr El-Nil Str. in Cairo, providing all veterinary services available at that time, such as consultation, treatment and surgery, to care about the most important members of the family which are our pets. In October 1945, Dr. Nashed obtained his Masters Degree in "Survey of Bovine Mastitis". On 27 November 1958, he was awarded his Ph. D. in "Some problems Encountered In Surgical Treatment of Reticulo-Peritonitis Tuamatica in Bovines" from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Prof. Dr. Nashed Helmy was Head of the Department of Surgery at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University. The clinic services developed over time, and in 1980, his son Rafik, after ending his high school studies, decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and study veterinary medicine, as this is what he grew up with and loved to do. He joined the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Cairo University, and since then, attended the clinic of his father as an under graduate. In 1985, Mr. Rafik Nashed, graduated and devotedly joined his father’s clinic to start training. In 1987, Dr. Rafik, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nashed Helmy, started his own clinic in Zamalek. In 1989, Dr. Rafik obtained his Diploma on Farm Animals from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University. In 1995, he was awarded his Masters Degree in "STUDIES ON SOME INTESTINAL PARASITIC INFESTATIONS IN DOGS". In 1997, he started his Ph.D. studies. In October 1999, Dr. Rafik Nashed attended successfully a Reproductive Ultrasound course in Farm Animals, Equines and pets. In April 2000, Dr. Rafik attended and actively participated in the 5th International Congress of Ultrasonography and gave a lecture titled: "Transabdominal Ultrasound Characterizaion Of Prostate Gland In Canine". The services provided at the clinic are being updated continuously in accordance with the latest developments in the field of veterinary medicine, yet, the precious principles of the Late Prof. Dr. Nashed Helmy which are will never change and are always remembered and honored.
